CHAIRMANSHIP SKILLS

This full day course is aimed at Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen and aims to help them perform their role effectively and responsibly. The training will also be interest to all experienced councillors in particular those aspiring to be a chairman of the council or committees. It will also provide an opportunity to raise and discuss issues of concern. Topics covered will include:

The role of the Chairman
Preparation for meetings
Agenda, rules and procedures
Code of Conduct
The Council as an employer and employment issues
How to manage difficult situations

Registration and refreshments from 9.30am for a prompt start at 10am, finish by 3.15pm
