Berrick Salome Parish Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to take on the role as Clerk to the Council.
You will be mainly working from home and the Council will provide you with a laptop for Council business. You will also be required to attend Council meetings and the Annual Parish Meeting. General Council meetings take place on the second Thursday of every other month from January. Occasionally Extraordinary meetings are necessary where it is necessary to discuss business at short notice. Meetings are held in the Berrick and Roke Village Hall.
This is a part-time role with an average of 6 hours per week including attendance at meetings, however workload is variable.
Your salary will depend on experience. It is within the NJC salary scale range SCP7 - SCP12 (£13.26 - £14.36 per hour).
Main duties include:
acting as advisor to the Chair and council, keeping track of regulations and changes to governance
creating agendas alongside the Chair
minute taking, and managing the correspondence and filing.

The qualities we are looking for are:
A high standard of oral and written communication skills, be capable of working independently, prioritising work and have the ability and flexibility to deal with a range of issues.
Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office software (particularly Excel, One Drive, Outlook and Word).
Experience as a Parish Clerk would be helpful but training will be given to someone who is keen to take on this role.
