Parish Pros
for experienced councillors
Parish Pros is designed as a refresher course for people who have been a parish or town councillor for several years.
The purpose of the session is to refresh knowledge of procedure and practice and to further empower councillors to handle council business effectively and confidently. A range of topics will be covered including:
- Roles and responsibilities of councillors and officers
- The importance of the law in meetings with an effective agenda and accurate minutes
- Local council spending powers
- Council delegation and ways of managing your responsibilities
- Planning ahead for delivery of services to and for your community
- Councillor conduct
- Governance and transparency
This will be an in-person course from 9.30am - 1.00pm, with refreshments and networking breaks. Please let us know when booking if you have any dietary requirements or access needs.
